Im happy with this rope. It has a nice feel for a 9.8. The mammut is a good first rope. When I get a fancier rope Ill keep it as a gym rope.
This is my first rope and I am very happy with it. It is ideal workhorse rope. I use it for both indoors and outdoors climbing. Even after it developed a kink I was able to straighten it when rappelling several times and passing it though a tuber. It is just awesome and very resistant.
This rope is great if you're looking for a workhorse rope that does it all: thick enough for top roping, thin enough for repoints, burly enough for repeated projecting. It handles really well and feeds through all of our belay devices. Stretch is enough that catches are soft, but not enough where you're worried about decking.
Maybe my only gripe is that it sometimes kinks but with careful flaking it's not a problem.
I have used the rope a few times indoors and it feels great no problems at all.
