Marmot Aruna Hoody Women
When you're caught in the rain without a hardshell, or when extreme weather soaks your waterproofs, you risk losing precious stored heat. The Marmot Aruna Hoody Women is designed with two safeguards for situations like these. The first layer of defence is the DWR (durable water repellent) treatment applied to the shell. This coating will shed light rain and snow to prevent the jacket from wetting out in light showers. The second is Marmot's Down Defender, a high-performance water-resistant treatment applied that's applied to the down fill itself. By treating the down itself, it becomes highly resistant to becoming damp, clumpy, and losing its loft when exposed to moisture - in other words, losing heat. So, even if the jacket does wet out, the down itself will keep on insulating. It will also dry much quicker. This versatile women's down jacket comes with all of the standard features, but it mainly provides added peace of mind in changeable, cold conditions and essential weather-resistance in extreme environments.

Marmot treat some of their down insulation with a water-resistant finish known as Down Defender. Down feathers treated with Down Defender are much more useful in wet weather environments, where untreated down is known to fail. Down Defender enables feathers to stay drier ten times longer, maintain 150% more loft in damp conditions, and dry 30% faster, keeping your precious stored heat safe within the down's fibres. Bluesign® approved.
Ripstop fabrics are made by weaving a nylon thread in interlocking, square patterns through a base material. (You can spot its distinguishable appearance in fabrics with a raised box or diamond pattern.) As a result, rips and tears, unable to bypass this nylon barrier, are confined to one very small area and will not spread throughout the fabric.
